Animal Cell Parts And Functions Wikipedia
endoplasmic reticulum and cell membrance……help?
i want a detailed description and function of smooth and rough endoplasmic reticulum and cell membrane
before answering the question…read other answers and add some thing new…. don’t repeat the same thing
what i know of the topics
endoplasmic reticulum – acts as a canal and transports substance through the cell… rough have ribosomes …. smooth don’t
cell membrane – acts as a gate keeper…it is the out most part of animal cell
now add from there…..if you want to be creative sure do that…..if you want to give me website …..don’t give me wikipedia
REMEMBER function AND description
happy answering…and thanks for the answers
i dont have any thing against wikipedia…..i was not asking for wikipedia becasue i read it and i wanted more info
( i hope i get 10 points for this)
DESCRIPTION endoplasmic reticulum
There are rough ER and smooth ER. They both have the same types of membranes but they have different shapes and rough ER has ribosomes attached. Rough ER looks like sheets of bumpy membranes while smooth ER looks more like tubes. Sometimes the ER looks like a flat balloon. Sacs of the ER called cisternae store the complex molecules
FUNCTIONS endoplasmic reticulum
- Tubular network fused to nuclear membrane
- Goes through cytoplasm onto cell membrane
- Stores, separates, and serves as cell’s transport system
- Smooth type: lacks ribosomes
- Rough type ribosomes embedded in surface which in turn help in protein synthesis
CELL MEMBRANE description
The cell membrane is not one solid piece. It is like a bag. Everything in life is made of smaller pieces and a membrane is no different. Compounds called proteins and phospholipids make up most of the cell membrane. The phospholipids make the basic bag. The proteins are found around the holes and help move molecules in and out of the cell.
CELL MEMBRANE functions
- Outer membrane of cell that controls cellular traffic
- Contains proteins that span through the membrane and allow passage of materials
- Proteins are surrounded by a phospholipid bi-layer.
