87 mercruiser 5.7 wont start?
both batteries have been charged up whin I try to start I just get clicking at the silanoid, thats with both batteries turned on if I run jumper cables to a runing car then it starts. I had both batteries checked at advance auto part and thay said that thay were good, when charging I noticet the acid was bubbling which means its charged usually. advance said it must be a bad connection but I have cleaned and oiled all of them. if it was just a bad connection would the jumping off not work? or is advance wrong and I need to replace both batteries. when by accidend I taped the – to the + I did get a very strong spark. Is there any other way to check the batteries, I do a lot of wofk with high voltage AC so on my amp / Clamp meter All it has is DC volt and even a Battery close to dead will Show 12 volts. thank for the Help Ben
follow the ground wire to the block. therein lies the problem.
