guitar question caparison plm- 3?

sense that guitar is discontinued, i decided to by seperate parts and make the closest thing to it.

Dutkiewicz uses Caparison PLM-3 guitars, a discontinued model, with EMG pickups (85 in the bridge, two SA single coils in the middle and neck positions) and DR Tite-Fit .012-.052 strings.

What are EMG pikcups? and what does it mean 85 in the bridge?

EMG stands for Electro-Magnetic Generator. The 85 is actually a humbuckler pick-up. This pick-up is for rythm most of the time and is combined with single coil pick-ups. Thiis is a very popular humbuckler pick-up from what I have read. More information is on the wikipedia website below or go directly to the makers of the pick-up
