I spun a bearing and lost a rod in my dodge avenger , would it be better to buy a reman engine or fix parts?

When i spun the bearing at 70mph, the posted limit out where i was, i think it screwed up the crankshaft, parts cost is 350 + machining the crankshaft for 200 for 550 total or a remaned engine for 1800ish, the car is really worth saving, new transmission, radiator, clean good looking paint and interior, cold air intake, 38mpg highway engine had 130,000 miles on it when bearing spun
PS if you know of a cheaper reman engine…. i would love u forever

there really isn’t to many places right now selling cheap engine’s for those cars, your best bet would be to replace it though, putting money in to one once its done that is kind of risky, and buying a used one is even more of a risk,if it were me and i liked the car id replace it with a rebuilt one from jasper, that’s cheaper than buying another car in that good of shape, good luck on it, http://japsperengines.com
