Hi I have been using the parking dynamics pd1 sensors for about a month now and decided to do a review on them for people that are unsure about buying them or just want to know someones experience of using them.

I wanted a parking sensor that was cheap and didn’t have those hideous sensors at the back. I first came across the parking dynamicspd1 sensors in early January but didn’t buy them straight away because to be honest I was a bit skeptical of buying them. The parking dynamics pd1 sensors aren’t visible and are a lot cheaper than the typical hideous looking ultrasonic sensors and they can be installed yourself. The parking sensors come with a no risk 30 day money back guarantee so I eventually decided to order the front and rear sensors of the site a few days later based on that.

The parking dynamics site itself isn’t bad. It looks a bit crowded on the home page but overall it is professional looking. On the home page of the site there are a couple of videos on how the sensors work which was interesting.

Ordering of the site was easier than I thought it would be. The parking dynamics pd1 sensors are universal and you can order them straight from the home page. When I was ordering them I ordered the front and rear pd1 sensors because I thought it was pointless ordering just one but it is a good option parking dynamics give you because it can save you money. They also give you the choice to buy the front and rear pd1 sensors together for 129£ ,this is the one I bought, which will save you about a tenner which isn’t much but still helps. They also come with a two year warranty. Or you can buy the parking dynamics front/rear sensors separately at 59£ each. They also have a visual aid for a tenner extra which may be worth considering. It does the same as the pd1 sensors and also comes with a screen so you can see more.

Anyways after I selected the front and rear parking dynamics package at 129£ it was just a case of filling in my details etc. Security is always an issue with me when it comes to ordering of the internet but parking dynamics use https and 256 bit ssl encryption so I’ve never had any security issues with them. You can also pay by paypal which is what I did.

I ordered my sensors early in the morning and got an email the same day saying thanks for your order and that it was dispatched. I will also mention here that parking dynamics offer uk special delivery 1-2 days which is 5.95 and standard delivery is 2.95 which isn’t too bad. international shipping costs 7.95 and they say it will take about 7 days to receive it.

I received my parking dynamics sensors in a plain brown box 5 days since it was dispatched. so the delivery isn’t slow nor quick either. The sensors are electromagnetic sensors, it is explained on the website how they work but basically in short the sensor emits an electromagnetic field and sends out a beep when an object is within range.

I opened up the box and began installing it. There are four main pieces of equipment in the package. The ECU, antenna, speaker and an activation button. Overall it took me no more than an hour per sensor to install. Its not that complicated but there is a lot of information on the site about installing the parking dynamics if you get stuck.

I’ll just go over the parking dynamics sensor installation in brief. The first thing that you do is install the ECU, mines under the dashboard. Next you need to install the antenna inside your bumper, taking the bumper of can be a bit time consuming. The best position to install it is in the middle of the bumper about 40 cms of the ground.

After that you need to do wiring and install the speaker where it can be heard, again mines under the dashboard. Once the parking dynamics sensors are installed you turn on the engine and depress the button. If they are installed correctly they make a single beep. Whenever you are about a meter away from an object they start to beep but whenever you get within about a foot of an object they make a low frequency buuuuup noise.

Now that I’ve been using my parking dynamics sensors for a month now I can highly recommend them to anyone considering buying them or wanting sensors for their car. The parking dynamics sensors are cheap and unnoticeable but the only downside is the installation which can be a bit tricky in parts. Other than that the parking dynamics sensors work well for me, they have improved my confidence whilst driving, probably have saved me money from scratches I may have made without them and off course, they make parking etc a lot easier.

I also just bought parking dynamics sensors about a week ago for one of my friends birthdays who has just past his test and he says they have helped him a lot especially because he is just “new” to parking.

That is it on the parking dynamics sensors I hope this review has helped you.

Overall

price 9/10 value 9/10 installation 7/10 quality 9/10 ease of use 10/10 delivery 8/10
