Parts X Ray Machine
what is the setup of an x-ray machine and the functions of each parts of the x-ray machine?
how does the x-ray machine setup looks like? and there are so many parts (units) in the x-ray machine, so what’s the function(s) of each unit?
Though there are many parts to an x ray machine, the basic operation is relatively simple.
there are two metal pieces separated by a small gap.

The angled one is the anode and is positively charged
The flat one is the cathode and is positively charged.
The angled one has a tungsten piece of metal on the angled part.
When the machine is turned on the cathode becomes charged with negative electrons.
When the machine is fired, the positive end is charged which attracts all the elctrons. The electorns smash into the tungsten target and all types of radiation are released. Heat, light (which you can’t see because it’s way inside the machine) and x-ray radiation. The angulation of the target gives the x-rays a genera direction. The long tube or collimeter on the machine focuses the x-ray radiation into a beam where it leaves the machine and hits a film target.
The whole x-ray generating apparatus is suspended in oil inside a glass container inside the machine. This is done to dissipate the tremendous heat generated when the x-rays are produced. The machine can overheat if used continuously but that rarely happens because it’s so long between shots.
